Bringing together two of Steven Walter Children’s Cancer Foundation’s favourite things, fundraising for a cure and motorcycling, we’re excited to announce that SWCCF has been selected as the official charity partner for the opening round of the 2016 Motul FIM Superbike and Supersport World Championships at Phillip Island from 26 to 28 February.
Thanks to some generous volunteers, we will be manning a stand at the event, selling raffle tickets, merchandise and drumming up business for the Snowy Ride later this year on Saturday 5 November.
‘Team Australia’ will be out in force during the event with a total of 10 local riders, five full-timers and five wildcards, will line up across the two production-based world classes.
This year the traditional double-header Sunday format for WorldSBK has been jettisoned in favour of one race each day, with both 22-lappers to be held at 3:00pm on February 27 and 28 respectively.
Showcasing the latest generation of high-performance four-stroke street bikes, the World Superbike round sees the top manufacturers battling it out for the 2016 world championship. And the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit is not only one of the most spectacular, but has one of the highest average speeds of any circuit in the world.
If you’re planning to be there for this fantastic event, and would like to help SWCCF for even a few hours, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call (02) 9542 5885.
There are also plenty of great ticket packages still available for the event. For more information visit www.worldsbk.com.au or call Alice Feehan on 5952 2710
Can’t wait to see you track side!
