On Friday 11th May a group of 18 everyday Australians will set out from Tamworth on a journey around the country in the hope of raising much needed funds for research into a cure for childhood cancer.
The Steven Walter Children’s Cancer Foundation’s Around Australia Ride 2018 is launching from Tamworth Hyundai with 12 motorcycle riders, two pillions and two support vehicles with four crew. Together they will circle the country with the target of raising $100,000 for vital children’s cancer research and clinical trials.
Carefully planned to pass through some of Australia’s most spectacular and remote locations, the ride will finish in Steven Walter’s home town of Kirrawee on 13 June.
SWCCF’s platinum partner, Hyundai Help for Kids, is the official ride sponsor, providing a Hyundai iLoad and Santa Fe as support vehicles.
With $90,000 already raised towards the ride’s fundraising target and the riders paying their own way around the country, the money raised will go straight towards fund cutting edge research at the Children’s Cancer Institute in Sydney and Murdoch Children’s Research Institute in Melbourne.
