Splendid High Tea at Waterbrook

Brookside Restaurant at Waterbrook in Yowie Bay was the setting for Steven Walter Children’s Cancer Foundation’s fabulous High Tea on Saturday 13 June.

Around 100 lovely ladies (and a couple of lucky gentlemen) helped raise more than $5000 which is going directly to support research into a cure for childhood cancer. Guests were treated to a glass of Chandon on arrival, a delicious range of savoury and sweet bites and a beautiful performance from MC and soloist Kerstyn Walsh and Alex on piano.

A highlight of the event was a short Q&A between Donna Drew, an Oncology Nurse at Sydney Children’s Hospital and Cathy Psaradellis who shared her daughter Maria’s story about her battle with cancer aged just 3 months old. Maria is now 8 and almost 7 years in remission, and we were thrilled that Cathy, Maria and her younger sister Alexandria could be our special guests at the High Tea and give us insight into their battle.
