It was three days of bikes, bikes and a few more bikes just for good measure at Round 1 of the 2016 World Superbike competition at the iconic Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.
Steven Walter Children’s Cancer Foundation was selected as the official charity for the event and we spent a thrilling weekend trackside on Gardner Straight right at the centre of all the action.
A group of 28 volunteers, many Snowy Riders amongst them, came along and helped out for the three-day event, collecting donations, selling stubby coolers, hats and raffle tickets for our His & Hers Monster Raffle.
And the crowd were certainly a generous bunch with a total of $8883 raised across the weekend. Of course the healthy sense of competition between some of the crew from the Mario & Luigi’s from the Snowy Ride certainly helped bump that figure up. Their group of energetic volunteers raised a spectacular $3,500.50 between them!
Being surrounded by motorcycling fans and riders, it was also a fantastic opportunity to hand out brochures for the 2016 Snowy Ride on Saturday 5 November, inviting them to come along and letting them know what an amazing event it is.
Our thanks go to Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit for welcoming SWCCF as the official charity, and all of our amazing volunteers for their efforts.
More information on the 2016 Snowy Ride is available, and raffle tickets in the His & Hers Monster Raffle can also be purchased online. Prizes will be drawn on 30 June 2016.
